For almost half a century, Masaru has been technically and visually documenting the molecular characteristics and structural changes in water. He takes water samples from different sources and freezes specimen droplets and then examines them under a dark field microscope with photographic capabilities.
Masaru conducted his research in different parts of the world by taking samples from industrially polluted waters of Japan like the Biwako Lake of the Kinki region and the Yodo River that pours into the bay of Osaka, as well as the miraculous waters of Lourdes, France, and pristine ice from the Antarctic region.
Water exposed to Beethovens Pastorale, other classical symphonies, and the Kawachi folk dance music had beautiful structures while the ones to which rock music was played remained murky and did not form the brilliant crystals.
After seeing water react to different environmental conditions, pollution and music, Masaru and his colleagues decided to see how thoughts and words affected the water crystals. Words like love and appreciation, thank you, you fool!, I will kill you, Adolf Hitler, and Mother Teresa were typed onto paper using a word processor and taped on glass bottles overnight. The waters were then frozen and photographed to reveal amazing results. The positive words and names produced the sparkling crystals while the negative words produced ugly forms. The amazing thing is that water upon which the words "thank you" and arigato (Japanese for thank you) were pasted on produced similar looking crystals!
Masaru enlisted the help of chief priest Kato of the Shingon sect of Buddhism to utter incantations and proclamation prayers at Lake Fujiwara in Gumma Prefecture. His team took water samples before and after the incantations and they were amazed at the astounding change in the structure of the water crystals after the incantations.
An unbelievable thing happened that Masaru could not forget forever. A week later, a local TV station reported that a drowned body of a young lady floated onto the surface of Lake Fujiwara and the murderer was arrested the following day. Masaru believes that the incantations did not only cleanse the lake but the pure words of the human prayer also healed a physical body as well as a human soul that had not rested in peace.
Using the same prayer/declaration technique, Masaru conducted a session at the polluted Lake Pichucaba in Sao Paolo, Brazil, upon the invitation of an NGO for the project "Cry for Water." Thirty people forming a hand-to-hand circular chain prayed and as before, Masarus team took water samples before and after the prayer. The same was done in the Bahamas and under a microscope, the prayed upon water sample had a ring around its beautiful crystal echoing the human circular chain they formed while praying. The water mirrored the event!
Now you understand why I asked you to pray last Friday (July 25 was proclaimed by Masaru Emoto as "World Love and Thanks to Water Day") to join Masaru to express our love, respect and gratitude for water. Water comprises 70 percent of the human body and covers 70 percent of our planet. Water is the essential element of life; without it, no life form can exist. Its quality and integrity are vitally important to everything on earth. Human life is directly connected to the quality of our water, both within our bodies and all around us in our environment.
According to Masaru, it is important to decree, "I love you water, I respect you water, I thank you water!" By verbalizing our love, respect, and thanks to water, the structure of its crystals changes and becomes beautiful. He asks, "Then, what if we gave our word with Love and Thanks to water all over the world simultaneously?" It would be powerful! This triggered his idea for the World Water Day.
Masaru has given seminars and lectures in Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Austria, Croatia, Canada, the United States of America, Costa Rica, Greece, Uruguay, Ecuador and Australia. He was in the Philippines in 2002 upon the invitation of the Asian Development Bank. He is fast gaining followers from enthusiastic people all over the world clamoring for cleaner, unpolluted water.
Masarus work has proven that what we say makes water react at the molecular level. Now we know the efficacy of prayer and declaration. When we pray, we may not get what we pray for right away but the power of our thoughts and words effect changes in things around us that will sooner or later bring about the realization of the dream we have prayed for.
