Happy Easter to one and all!
Edouard Miailhe and his wife Sevrine surprised Edouard’s father William-Alain with an intimate and fun birthday bash for the latter’s 70th birthday. The couple thoughtfully gathered some of William-Alain’s Harvard colleagues who knew his parents Edward and Lotty well. Edward and Lotty were members of France’s Wine and Food Society. Other guests at the party were friends of William-Alain’s who shared his deep interest in the history and culture of the Philippines.

Naturally, Brigitte, William-Alain’s wife of 35 years, took a break from running the Chateau Siran at Margaux near Bordeaux to take part in the fabulous feast. Brigitte had some sumptuous vintage of her claret shipped especially for the evening, plus the fantastic and very rare dessert wine Chateau d’Yquem 1982.

Edouard and Sevrine entrusted young chef Rolando Laudico to prepare an imaginative menu that would match the mature and delicious wines of Siran. Guests went home most satisfied.
