"The most enriching journeys are the ones we take deep inside ourselves." PJ ORourke
The metro bay areas premier hotel, The Century Park, again pulled off successful twin golf tourneys in California. The hotel hosted the tourneys in collaboration with Philippine Airlines.
Dubbed the Second Philippine Airlines-Century Park Hotel Golf Challenge, the tournaments were held at the Montebello Country Golf Club in Los Angeles (where about 160 golfers joined the event) and at the Crystal Springs Golf Club in San Francisco (which attracted some 140 participants).
Bobby Carpio, the Century Parks "hypersonic" and ever-dapper general manager, led the dynamic team behind the tourneys. He was ably assisted by Century Park Hotel PR manager Steve Naguiat, Agnes Buenaventura, country manager of Philippine Airlines, and Adrian Ingles, PAL district manager.
The Second Philippine Airlines-Century Park Hotel Golf Challenge will benefit the ASIAC Operation Rainbow Philippines, a non-stock, non-profit organization that has thus far provided medical treatment to some 6,000 Filipinos with facial deformities.
Affiliated with Operation Rainbow USA and Australia, Operation Rainbow Philippines continues to bring medical assistance to various areas in the Philippines.
The Montebello winners were Paul Magpantay, Over-all Champ; JV Lopez, Low Gross Champion; Bob del Rosario, Callaway Champion; Greg Cordero, Class A Champion; Juan Alaan, Class B Champion; and Butch Nievera, Class C Champion.
Ricky Paulino and Rollie Bautista won two Philippine Airlines Business Class round-trip tickets (Los Angeles-Manila-Los Angeles) with accommodations at the Century Park Hotel, of course.
The Crystal Springs winners were Tony Reboton, Low Net Champion; Fred Viray, Low Gross Champion; Agnes Buenaventura, Womens Champion; Dan Patalot, Class A Champion; Romy Mijares, Class B Champion; and Romy Herce, Class C Champion.
