The worlds best whisky, Johnnie Walker Black Label, continued its "Journey of Taste" at the tastefully appointed function room of the New Orleans Restaurant at the Corinthian Plazas Penthouse.
The elegant dinner honored the countrys foremost executives and men of distinction.
The whisky described by connoisseur Jim Murray as being the "Savoy" and "Everest" among whiskies has been feting exceptional men whose achievements might well be represented by Johnnie Walker Black Labels famous icon of the Striding Man, first scribbled on a menu by Tom Browne in 1909.
The latest "Journey of Taste" was a collaboration between Hemisphere-Leo Burnetts Abel Dolatre and MS2 Marketings suave president, Mike OConnor and his wife Marilyn. Brand Ambassador Alan Charles Atkins led a venerable gathering through a virtual Scottish tour. He explained the distinct elements that make up the incomparable taste of Johnnie Walker Black Label. New Orleans Restaurant manager Peter Malvar was also on hand to welcome the guests.
Among the accomplished guests were George Litton Jr.;Whats On & Expat editorial and publishing consultant Murray Hertz; Consul of the British Embassy Ian Sargeant; Silay Saravias Agroindustrial Devt. Corp. Co. president Bobby Sabino; Consul General of Jamaica Miguel Guerrero; Community Magazine director George Vastardis; Community Magazines Joan Parina; Health Maintenance Inc. president Ernest Rufino; and Quiazon Makalintal, Barot Law Office managing partner, lawyer Willie Sanchez.
Parañaque Rep. Ed Zialcita; former Manila Fourth District Rep. Ramon Bagatsing; the man behind TGIF, Jack Rodriguez; Rotary Club of Parañaque president George Rivera; and Department of Foreign Affairs Raymund Toledo also gracing the affair.
Brand Ambassador Alan Atkins took the group through a "tour", a visual history of Scottish regions. He described the singular elements that make up the distinct taste of Johnnie Walker.
The honorees partook of an exquisite dinner and five single-malt tasting glasses at the New Orleans Restaurants private dining room. The glasses contained different flavors with the final glass filled with the legendary whisky. Guests were asked to compare the "legs" and "nose" of the different blends, their color and finish.
As the evening ended, Brand Ambassador Alan Atkins raised his Johnnie Walker Black Label glass and enjoined the rest of the distinguished group to an ancient Scottish toast which means good health Slann Gee Vaar!
