One affair celebrated an accomplished life while the other, a coming-of-age.
Grand dame Dominga Dumandan Robles birthday celebration was a tribute given to her by her children and grandchildren for being the matriarch of a remarkable brood.
The bash was held at the Isla Ballroom of the Edsa Shangri-La. The celebrators children Excy, Levy, Millie, Obet, Tonet, Aireen, Annie Robles-Andres and Exal Robles-Joseph, all successful realtors, gamely rendered 50s ballads, much to their mothers amusement.
Autumn was the theme of the affair. The ladies and the celebrators granddaughters Klarisse, Kathleen, Kaye and Kim, Joanna, Michelle, Cady, Annie and Tintin donned pastel, muted gold and mauve gowns. Family friends and well-wishers included Buddy Encarnado; Robbie Leviste; Nikki Leviste; Pic Laudico; Saling Canonizado; Kay Dee; Maricel and Wilma Ignacio; and Marissa Santos Tan. The celebrators sisters Nonay Quintos and Antonia Reyes were also present.
Meanwhile, Pamela Kathleen Bautista Ayson, the daughter of Troika Commercial and SLA International chairman Serge Ayson and jeweler Yoli Ayson, the woman behind YPatrixs Management, celebrated her debut in grand style.
The stunning Pamelas coming-of-age affair at the Grand Ballroom of the InterCon was a well-attended event. Present were members of the diplomatic corps, society icons and numerous friends.
The debutante was escorted by Rafael Rosell in an evening that adhered to a gold and silver motif.
Young achiever Pamela is a print and TV commercial model and is the team captain of the De La Salle cheerleaders.
The night saw Pamela change thrice into dazzling Rajo Laurel gowns as she gracefully led in the cotillon de honor. Mom Yolis saucy salsa number also spiced up the evening.
To these two extraordinary women who just celebrated milestones, I wish you both good health and happiness on your birthdays!
Happy birthday to our celebrators today: Designers Randy Ortiz and Letlet Veloso and Ramon Bagatsing.
