MANILA, Philippines — Vivoree Esclito and Karina Bautista, stars of hit ABS-CBN and Netflix drama series “Can’t Buy Me Love,” shared their experience and learnings from portraying live sellers in the show.
In exclusive separate interviews with Philstar.com, Vivoree and Karina admitted that they had to watch a lot of real live sellers to prepare for their roles.
“Kailangan talaga ‘yung energy mo top-tier, mataas talaga ang energy mo kasi s’yempre live selling, kailangan ma-engganyo ‘yung mga viewers mo, so ayun, masaya,” Vivoree said.
Even after the series, she is still watching live sellers to this day, believing that these sellers offer stuff that are less expensive than usual. Among the “budol” finds she bought from live sellers were hair rollers and moisturizers.
According to her, she is willing to continue live-selling but for a brand endorsement.
“Ang natutunan ko, kasi ang roles namin laking Binondo, laking kayod talaga, at hindi s’ya nalalayo sa personal life ko,” Karina shared.
“So I think, kapag may dreams ka, may gusto kang maabot, basta may mga kaibigan kang kasama, sama-sama kayo, good influence din sila para sa future mo, I think maabot mo rin ‘yung mga gusto mong maabot.” — Videos by Deni Rose M. Afinidad-Bernardo, video editing by Martin Ramos
