MANILA, Philippines - Rosanna Ocampo-Rodriguez has made a name in the Philippine fashion scene with her empowering designs that perfectly accentuate the female form. Since she started, Rosanna has earned several accolades including Designer to Watch, 10 Most Stylish, and 10 People to Watch Out For. Aside from this, one of her most memorable milestones in her career is when international brand Lancel used her clothes for their Asia sales campaign in 2010. She has dressed and impressed heiress Paris Hilton, but more importantly, she has dressed the Philippines’ most fashionable women. Now, nothing seems to stop Rosanna as she caps off her 7th year in the business with a new label — Oro.
Oro, meaning gold in Italian, is Rosanna Ocampo’s gold label of bespoke designs. The idea of creating a new label started with her increasing list of clients and their design requests. “I’ve been getting a lot of demands in the past years years for made-to-order gowns, so I decided to make a gold label,” says Rosanna. “It’s a higher level as opposed to my regular cocktail line, there’s a lot more work involved, the fabrics are of a higher quality and most pieces are hand-sewn.”
With the launch of Oro, Rosanna also unveils a collection tailor-fit for her muses, which include Asia’s Next Top Model mentor Joey Mead-King, style maven Jackie Cohen Antonio, writer Juana Manahan-Yupangco, woman of elegance Marielle Santos Po, epicurean expert and “Gypsetter” Stephanie Zubiri-Crespi, SoFA co-founder and bag designer Amina Alunan, modern muse Cristina Cu, furniture designer Jessica Kienle, marketing maven Steph Kienle-Gonzales, TV host Xandra Rocha-Araneta, fashion curator and earth mother Katrina Lobregat, and restaurateur Bianca Araneta-Elizalde. Each design showcases the range of the designer’s expertise and inspirations — giving a gilded impression of what the label is about.
Atelier Rosanna Ocampo is located at 312 Aguirre St., Legaspi Village, Makati City.
