Budji Layug, Royal Pineda, Irene Araneta, Matteo Guidicelli design crafts for a cause

MANILA, Philippines - Kultura celebrates four years of Crafts for a Cause this May with Crafts By Design, innovative collaborations between foundations, designers and personalities.

Crafts by Design features one-of-a-kind pieces by Budji Layug and Royal Pineda for Life Project 4 Youth, Irene Marcos Araneta for Kaibigan Ermita, Matteo Guidicelli for Habi Bag ng Kabuhayan, JC Buendia for Kabisig ng Kalahi, Lya Armovit for Kabalikat sa Kaunlaran sa Baseco, Merlee Cruz-Jayme for Invisible Sisters and Kabalikat sa Kaunlaran ng Baseco.

Well-known bag and accessories designers have also collaborated for a cause: Amina Aranaz-Alunan with Rurunguan sa Tubod, Emi Jorge with Kaibigan Ermita, and Carissa Cruz-Evangelista with Philippine Christian Foundation, Kaibigan Ermita Outreach Foundation and Invisible Sisters, Jun Delingon for Habi Bag ng Kabuhayan, Renan Pacson for Berdesaco, and Mitch Shivers for Kamay Krafts.

These Crafts by Design were auctioned during the launch event at SM Makati with all proceeds to benefit its partner foundations.

Crafts for a Cause  is part of Kultura's social responsibility program, an advocacy developed to help foundations by giving them opportunities to sustain and expand their livelihood programs, resulting in increased productivity and income.

Crafts for a Cause foundations include: Berdesaco, Circle of Friends Foundation, Claret Samal Foundation, E. Zobel Foundation, Gawad Kalinga Foundation, Gifts & Graces Fair Trade Foundation, Ginto Foundation, Habi Bag ng Kabuhayan, Holy Family Home Foundation, and Hope International Ministries.

Also included are the Invisible Sisters, Isla Para sa Kaunlaran ng Maricaban, Kabalikat sa Pag-unlad Multi-purpose Cooperative, Kabalikat sa Kaunlaran ng Baseco, Kabisig ng Kalahi, Kaibigan Ermita Outreach Foundation, Kamay Krafts Foundation, Life Project 4 Youth, NNJ Crafts, Paper for Now, Rurungan sa Tubod, Sr. Teresa of Santo Nino Center, Sto Rosario Multi-purpose Cooperative, the Carewell Community, the Philippine Christian Foundation and Re-purposed Manila.
