MANILA, Philippines - Every Cinderella has her own prince. And this Father’s Day, Cinderella, the one-stop clothing destination, pays tribute to princes who enchant and grace our lives: our fathers.
Offering the best in casual and smart attire for men, Cinderella dressed four fathers — Rick Yupangco, Gino del Rosario, Mark Geriene, and Pierre Marmonier, as well as their respective children, to show off just how its pieces fit seamlessly into a family man’s lifestyle.
Rick Yupangco, a triathlete, leads an active life, which he shares with his son, Jaime. “Although he is too young to understand triathlon, I expose him to the three disciplines and I make sure he is at the finish line of my races.” Off the training field, he leans towards easy, casual pieces picked out for him by his wife Juana. A checkered button-down teams up with khaki pants and sneakers, or a striped polo shirt with jeans. Jaime wears the same, albeit in brighter-colored, miniature versions.
The same casual attitude goes for Gino del Rosario, another proud father and triathlete, who with his son Gio, sports a lime-green striped polo paired with khakis both from Pierre Cardin, while his son kicks back in Osh Kosh B’ Gosh tees. On weekends, when the two enjoy each other’s company on lunch dates or as dad fires up the grill, Gino has the freedom to move in a similar polo shirt from British India, but in bright red, worn with blue plaid Esprit shorts for an extra touch of style. Son Gio, on the other hand, helps out, wearing a plaid short-sleeved shirt and khaki cargos from CKids.
Gino adds, “I love Esprit. I’ve always been a patron. The quality and their designs are perfect for everyone’s style. They have a wide array of designs from casual wear, semi-formal to sporty. And the quality is very good since the colors and the materials last long.”
The idea of active living comes to the fore, however, with commercial-diver-turned-systems-developer Marc Geriene. To him, style is about trying different things. “I don’t wear too many bold colors but I won’t say I wouldn’t be forced to wear them. I used to say button-down collar but I changed my mind about that.” In this spread with his daughter Mara, he wears a red linen shirt, which pops against khaki trousers, both from British India, a personal favorite, which he wears when he vacations in Boracay, Bahamas or Amanpulo. Another outfit errs on the hip side, with jeans and a checked button down from Esprit, thrown over a black tee from Pierre Cardin. The same combination is reinterpreted with khakis, a yellow v-neck from Pierre Cardin, and a checked shirt from British India. Meanwhile, daughter Mara maintains her youthful flair with a striped tube dress, shorts, ruffled top, pleat skirt and a ruffle-bib tank from Seventeen.
Finally, Pierre Marmonier, who makes his business concocting jams, stays just as youthful by constantly bonding with his son, Theau. “I try to play as much as possible with Theau, either outside playing football or tennis or at home playing with his trains.” He wears pieces that are just as tangy as his tart treats, like a striped Pierre Cardin polo shirt with bands of brown, grey and tangerine. His son Theau, in the same vein, wears an orange Osh Kosh B’Gosh shirt. The color-matching continues with Pierre’s outfit of a printed red shirt from Esprit, and a military-pocket navy blue polo from Pierre Cardin, while Theau puts on a checkered polo topped with a navy graphic shirt from Osh Kosh B’Gosh.
