Eat, pray, shop at Centris
MANILA, Philippines - Centris Walk in Eton Centris recently held its Christmas tree-lighting ceremonies in celebration of the season. Headlining the event were Prim Nolido, senior vice president for business development; and Erwin de Pedro, vice president for marketing. Also present was Louie Caridad, Eton Centris assistant vice president for property management. Its 32-foot-tall tree is situated amid the iconic modern canopies called “Constellations.” These architectural marvels light up in different, soft colors, providing the stylish backdrop to the Christmas tree, which was bedecked with multi-colored lights and trimmings.
The internationally acclaimed University of the East Chorale serenaded the crowd with classic Christmas carols and upbeat pop songs. Santa Claus came in riding the Centris Walk’s Kiddie Train. Kids had the time of their life as they had the chance to sit on his lap and had their photo taken with Santa on his sleigh.
Different activities are lined up this December at Centris Walk, beginning with the “Simbang Gabi sa Centris,” the traditional nine-day novena Masses at 8:30 p.m. from Dec. 16 to 23 and at 6 p.m. on Dec. 24.
For those who want to shop away from the madding crowd at the malls, visit the weekend markets where abundant choices await. There are Christmas bazaars from Dec. 14 to Jan. 2 at 4 p.m. to 6 a.m., plus the famous SIDCOR market (every Friday and Saturday from 4 to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.). For the health-conscious, there’s the Food Bowl Night Market every Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 12 midnight.
Kids will enjoy the Kiddie Carousel and the Kiddie Train. Santa will be at Centris Walk every Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. until Dec. 23 and from 5 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 24.
There’s also Lazer Maxx, the country’s biggest and the only three-level laser tag arena and the Bungee Fun are great for those who want some adrenaline-pumping action. The standing-ride Wowowheels and the moto-GP Kiddie Wheels are fun rides for kids and adults alike.
