Fashion excitement at Eastwood Mall
MANILA, Philippines - Excitement and catwalk jitters. You’d surely feel these if given the opportunity to walk down a real runway for the very first time! Last summer, the modeling students of My Talent Co. flexed their modeling muscles at the atrium of Eastwood Mall as they sashayed down the catwalk sporting the latest collection from Human.
Spearheaded by Trumpets Playshop’s founder and STAGES’ president, professional theater actor, producer and director Audie Gemora together with managing director and partner Vilma Moredo, My Talent Co. is a workshop program that offers kids, teens and adults alike to train and develop their love for musical theater, dance, pop concert performance and modeling. Now in its fourth year, My Talent Co. continues to enjoy a surge of new students, including the teen talents of Star Factor TV5 who joined the modeling class this year.
With model and fashion and beauty columnist Rissa Mananquil at the helm, the students of the modeling class learned the basic modeling techniques used by today’s top fashion models, were given the opportunity to work with some of the most respected names in the fashion industry, experienced modeling for a real photo shoot, and understood what it takes to be a future supermodel.
With over a decade of experience and one of the most enduring modeling careers, former president of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP) Rissa serves as role model as well to young aspiring models as she continues to professionalize the modeling landscape, this time as a modeling teacher.
“Dedication to the pursuit of skills and character is a mindset,” explains Audie, a pillar in Philippine theater. “This person sets high standards and relentlessly pursues then regardless of circumstances. Fortunately, this mindset will not only serve our students well on the stage of theater, but on the stage of life itself.”
