Silver: Pick of the glitter

MANILA, Philippines - What was once considered a poor cousin of gold, silver has become the choice of many.

In the Philippines, Michelis has been providing shoppers with fine pieces of sterling silver jewelry, such as earrings, necklaces, rings, studs and cufflinks. Since 1998, silver jewelry buyers have been traipsing to Michelis stores to get their silver cravings.

Michelis creative director Sanya Faustmann talks proudly of the quality of Michelis’ sterling silver jewelry, which consists of 95 percent silver.

Mia Faustmann, one of the most sought-after silver jewelry exporters in the country, says that silver has an intrinsic value.

The release of Miché, the brand’s collection for men, has surprisingly become another success.

Miché designs are sophisticated, sporting a casual-elegant mix. Current bestsellers include the Talisman, Tattoo, Rebel Spike, and Timeless collections. The Talisman collection, for instance, is a huge hit especially to those who believe in its supposed magical powers. The different mix makes it possible for wearers to use Michelis sterling silver jewelry in casual gatherings or formal parties.

This year, Michelis will flaunt new styles, such as silver combined with leather and rubber. Brooches will also be added in time for Mother’s Day. A new Michelis store is set to open at SM Southmall. The new store joins Michelis branches in Greenbelt 5, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Atrium at SM Megamall, The Podium, The Block at SM City North Edsa, Northwing at SM City Cebu, Rustan’s Ermita, Rustan’s Alabang Town Center, and Rustan’s Tower Shangri-la Plaza.

Michelis is also available online at Filfgifts.com. Buyers may also check out new designs at www.michelisjewellery.com.
