Casa y Jardin Bazaar features Manansala plates
MANILA, Philippines - The Catholic Women’s Club’s much-awaited Casa y Jardin Bazaars will have two bazaars to be held at the grand ballroom of Hotel InterContinental on Oct. 3 and 10 the next two Sundays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
What sets Casa y Jardin apart from other bazaars is the sale of the limited-edition mother and child porcelain plate. Now in its 25th series, the featured artist for 2010 is National Artist Vicente Manansala whose birth centennial is marked this year.
This year CWC partners with Gawad Kalinga to build at least 30 houses for marginalized families.
CWC’s other 60 charities include Elsie Gaches Village, Alabang Hospice and Good Shepherd.
Both bazaars will sell Christmas décor, branded clothes, export overruns, antiques, jewelry, houseware, bags, clothing accessories, shoes, slippers and toys.
The gold elephant table which is very popular among shoppers carries various items donated by members and will be sold at give-away prices.
The bazaar will also feature up and coming artists from the UP School of Fine Arts and Tanay artists. They will sell paintings, sculptures and sketches.
Also on sale are maid’s uniforms sewn by women who were trained through CWC’s initiative. CWC funded the building of a social hall and purchased sewing machines to provide employment to housewives living at Gawad Kalinga communitees.
Visa and Mastercard credit cards will be accepted.
The CWC is headed by Rose Lazaro with Nikki Valerio Ane Preysler, Terry Tambunting Mimi Valerio, Nina Dizon, Tessie Rodrigo, Letty Hahn, Nonie Basilio, Shirley Uy, Nenuca Blardony, Baby Gloria, Mely Magsino, Nena Casimiro, Maritess Pineda, Lin Liboro, Milo Bondoc, Mitzi Piad, Alice Dee, Asun Zubiri, Cecile Limjoco, Sol Tan Gatue, Baby de Villa, Evelyn Ranada, Carminia Mantecon, Chloe Periquet, Isabel Oriol, Menchie Pangle, Mabel Abano and Nene Leonor in the working committee.
