MANILA, Philippines - Pink was the color of the day as SM Department Store unveiled the latest collection of Sister and Me — upsized versions of the adorable children’s wear line that generations of girls have grown up with. It gives older girls a chance to wear the latest Barbie collection and relive their childhood memories.
The launch was held at The Block of SM City North EDSA with the area covered in pink and equipped with vanity stations for nail art and hair makeovers, as well as modeling workshops where girls got tips on how to mix and match their clothes. They then experienced walking the runway as they modeled the Sister and Me collection.
An exclusive tie-up with SM Department Store, the event happens all weekends of September. After a run at The Block and SM Megamall, it will be held Sept. 18, 19, and 20 at SM City Pampanga and Sept. 25, 26, and 27 at SM Mall of Asia. A minimum P500 purchase of any regular Barbie apparel and/or Barbie limited T-shirt at SM’s children’s wear department will entitle one to join.
The event reinforces Barbie’s status as one of the most recognizable fashion icons. Almost every girl’s introduction to fashion, after all, begins with her first Barbie doll. Endless hours of playing dress-up with the gorgeous blonde is often the first time a young lady discovers her personal style by learning which garments look good together, and how to mix and match.
And today, as an iconic doll expressing youth, style, and creativity for generations of girls, Barbie continues to inspire girls to dream, discover, and explore a world without limits.
As the world continues to celebrate Barbie’s 50th anniversary, SM Department Store showcases Sister and Me in its children’s wear department
