MANILA, Philippines - Since I started my own Instagram account last July I have made many furriends. One of my besties is an Apricot Poodle named Rosco (@rosco_de_bosco).
Rosco lives with his mom, Sarah H. McGinnis of Virginia, USA, and her daughter Romy.
“To family and friends I have two ‘babies,’†shares Rosco’s mom Sarah. “We have had Rosco since he was eight weeks old.â€
Sarah is an office manager at a church. The family lives in a cute little neighborhood where everything is within walking distance — work, the library, the grocery, restaurants, chiropractor and doctor, among others.
“I’m in the fourth grade and in the ‘talented and gifted’ program,†says Romy. “I love my mommy more than anything in the world. Rosco comes next. Except when he’s kissing up to Mommy and she thinks he’s so perfect. He’s such a bratticus maximus.â€
I love Instagram because I am able to catch up with Rosco every day. Through photos, @rosco_de_bosco shares with me his life in the US and I share with him all the stuff I am doing over here.
So, for his article I decided to interview Rosco so that you all can get to know why we are such good friends.

Name: Rosco de Bosco McGinnis
Breed: Toy poodle (apricot)
Born: February 22, 2010
VODKA: Describe yourself in three words.
ROSCO McGINNIS: I want to be everyone’s friend! I’m loving and happy but don’t get between my mom and me. Mommy has all kinds of names for me: Pupcorn, Pupsqeak, Puppernickel, Dogface, Furface, Pup Pup. I happily answer to them all.
What’s life with your mom and Romy like?
I love my mommy and sister, but Mom’s the boss. When Romy tries to boss me around I tell on her. Mom says we can “fight like cats and dogs.†I’m not sure what that means ’cause I love cats!
Name one time you got into major trouble and how you got out of it.
One time I pooped and peed on Romy’s rug. Boy, was Romy mad! I won’t do it anywhere else in the house. I gave Mommy my best “I don’t know what you’re talking about†look and went and jumped up on Romy’s bed to observe cleanup.
What’s a typical day like for you?
When Mommy and Romy leave for work and school I am left at home alone. I love to sleep on Romy’s bed because it’s warm and sunny. If her door’s closed and Mommy’s door is closed, too, I sleep in my bed downstairs.
Sometimes Mommy takes me to work with her! I get to run around and eat the crumbs left by the little kids. All the teachers are in love with me and I get so many cuddles and kisses.
What do you love to do the most?
I love my Instagram account. I have so many cool “furriends†all over the world. You are one of my best furriends. We talk every day. Mom says when we win the lottery we are going to take a long trip and visit all of my IG furriends!
I also love to give kisses. I will stand on your chest and kiss you all day! Mom says it’s rude to molest people, especially ones I have just met.
I love napping. If Mommy lays down to take a nap or watch TV she says, “Come on, Rosco, take a nap with Mommy.†Then I jump up and curl up by her stomach, getting as close as I possibly can!
What is one forbidden food that you would love to eat?
I would love to have baby back ribs all the time ’cause the bones are small and soft enough so I can eat the whole thing! And who doesn’t love pork?
What would be your ultimate happy moment?
I don’t care where I go as long as it’s in the car with windows down! I could ride in the car all day! Sometimes Mommy lets me sit on her lap and say hi to everyone we pass!
I dream of one day biting Romy real good in the bum and Mommy not caring at all. Until then I’ll have to settle for barking at her and chasing her out of the room.
Any dream vacation?
I love to go on walkies — downtown, to the beach, to festivals — so long as I can go for a walk.
