I recently set up an Instagram account called @vodka_the_bichon so this means I have gotten into the habit of regularly checking what’s happening in the world of “furriends,†as the humans who run the Instagram accounts for their pets like to call their followers.
I have never been as active on Instagram as I have been in the last few weeks. The minutes I spend looking through the many posts of the furriends of Vodka, my two-year-old Bichon Frise, have been more than relaxing.
Staying online or at least using the 3G connection of my telco has made me more conscious about the importance of knowing what kind of plan would best suit my needs.
For example, when I visited the Globe website I learned that the amount of KBs to download an e-mail with Word, Excel or Powerpoint document is 370 KB; one minute of streaming video (YouTubeTM standard quality) is 2 MB; a download/upload of file, 350 KB; a social networking post, 10 KB; one webpage, 400 KB; one application/game/song is 9 MB and one instant messaging/chat, 30 KB. This information has been helpful in leading me in the right direction as far as what kind of Internet connection I need.
I also know that it is very important to have a good 3G connection in order to stay on top of the account of @vodka_the_bichon on a regular basis. In order to do this I have set aside a prepaid account, which has become dedicated to the many posts and regular updates I make during the day.
I must say that I have been happy with the Supersurf plan, which I load every so often. This prepaid plan has been the best for me so far, although there have been times when, because of my desire to upload more Instagram posts, I have had to add to my prepaid Supersurf load.
I really like that I have unlimited use of the prepaid plan for a certain number of days; this allows me to budget for the needs of my uploads. I am also happy that it is rare that I end up in a spot where there is no 3G coverage. This makes my day.
Before I made the decision as to which plan to use, I did as much research as I could. I must admit that because there are as many plans as there are users (at least it seems that way), I had a hard time deciding which plan would best suit my needs.
For now, let me just share that the prepaid plan I am on has worked just fine. And, just like all Instagram accounts, nothing quite tells the story of what goes on in the account as the pictures do. Let me share here a few posts that @vodka_the_bichon has made and a few of the “furriends†that she regularly shares her daily life with.
