No to animal cruelty

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Dog-owners and animal-lovers walked with their families and friends at the annual “Six-Legged Walkathon” held recently at the Mall of Asia.  The event was organized by the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) and Sassa.

Rescued Aspins (asong Pinoy) walked alongside purebreed dogs. There were more than 650 humans and over 400 dogs who participated in the event.  All of them were united in walking against animal cruelty and in promoting pet adoptions.

Participants who came in large groups were particularly happy to get dog food supplies for their rescues.  Alpo made the dog food drive possible for many of the participating shelters that badly need it.

The “Six-Legged Walkathon: Year 2” was made possible with the support of McDonald’s, Pet Express, Maynilad, Animal House, Betterdog, Whole Pet Kitchen & Barkery, EzyDog and the STAR Pet Life Section.
