'Operation Wild' on Animal Planet

-

MANILA, Philippines - Have you ever had a crocodile in your swimming pool or a rattlesnake in your house?

The question may sound strange to you, but for the people of Florida, it’s just one of the many real life threats they face. When that happens, it is the officers of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) who come to the rescue of both the citizens of Florida and the animals to ensure that no one gets hurt during these often-dangerous encounters between man and beast.

Whether it’s rescuing distressed boaters, wrangling defiant alligators or hunting down nighttime poachers, it’s never a typical day for the officers of the FWC, who protect Florida’s people as well as the animals that live within a precious ecosystem. This elite group handles calls from the unexpected to the unbelievable as well as everything in between, in an effort to keep one of America’s last frontiers safe. Operation Wild airs on Animal Planet every Tuesday at 9 p.m. SIN/HK with encores on Sunday at 3 p.m. and Monday at 10 p.m.

Florida has one of the United States’ last great natural reserves for wildlife and national parks: the Florida Everglades. The FWC team has one directive and that is to preserve a national treasure for generations to come. This special team is on a mission against reckless citizens who abuse and threaten Florida’s natural preserves. On each episode of Operation Wild, follow the officers as they respond to calls for service where wildlife and humans intersect, often with tragic consequences. Using unique methods of enforcing wildlife and natural resource laws, the dedicated men and women of the FWC show an extraordinary side to criminal investigations that occur in oceans, lakes, forests and greenways in and around Florida.

Witness environmental crime enforcement on Operation Wild as the FWC team attempt to track down poachers, organize dangerous animal relocation and provide security for wildlife within their borders. From preventing the illegal feeding of alligators to rescuing a bewildered dog stranded in the middle of a highway to daring search-and-rescue operations, watch as the FWC rolls out specialized equipment and a team of highly trained law enforcers to ensure the safety and well-being of both the state’s citizens and its vast resources.
