MANILA, Philippines — American lifestyle and media magnate Martha Stewart recently shared her struggles and success secrets as “America’s first self-made female billionaire” in a leadership forum organized by ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC).
Among those in the forum was Mayor Isko Moreno, who welcomed Stewart in Manila last Monday and shared an all-Filipino lunch with her together with Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.
In an interview with the press after the forum, Moreno shared three things he learned from Stewart’s talk.
“The bottomline, of all the questions and answers raised during the program, one thing is important: ‘yung character and attitude,” Moreno said.
“You see her character in answering things? Very sweet. (Kahit) ‘di nag-iisip, lumalabas ‘yung who she is.”
Apart from having the right attitude in life, Moreno said he also admires Martha’s perseverance.
“Two… ‘yung perseverance. Mula nung nag-uumpisa s’ya sa catering business, (up to) her multi-million-dollar enterprise or industry,” the former actor pointed out.
Third, the mayor emphasized Martha’s passion for work.
“Sabi n’ya, if you want to succeed, don’t relax,” the mayor enthused.
