Pia Wurtzbach arrives in Latin America, hopes to visit Ecuador
MANILA, Philippines - Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach just landed in South America.
Sharing the news to her followers, Wurtzbach posted a photo of her on Instagram, captioning the photo with: Just arrived in Peru. Loving it already and I can't wait for tomorrow's activities. Oh and by the way, it's my first time in Latin America."
Before flying back to US, the 26-year-old beauty queen, who arrived in the Philippines on April 16 for the Binibining Pilipinas coronation night, told her Instagram followers that she is planning to visit Ecuador as she makes her way to Peru for Miss Universe duties.
“Wasn’t quite ready to leave yet and I really do hate saying goodbyes but duty calls! Next stop…Peru! And a possible Ecuador trip in the works (fingers crossed it pushes thru) I have you all in my thoughts and prayers!” Wurtzbach said.
Over the weekend, Ecuador was hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake, devastating the whole country while leaving more than 500 people dead. As of this writing, some 20,500 people were left sleeping in shelters while more than 200 are still missing.
