How about some fresh flowers for the holidays?

Alixandra Caole Vila - Philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines - With the heavy rain pouring and traffic getting worse as Christmas approaches, everyone needs a little something to keep the stress at bay. So, how about putting fresh flowers on your shabby old table to instantly lighten up your mood?

Flowers can easily take the place of boring everyday table decor, but it can easily trigger happy hormones, too.

Studies show that while flowers make you feel good about your living space, it also increases happiness, reduces depression and anxiety. Flowers have also been associated to increasing emotional contact with friends and family, which is why the relationship between flowers and your life is far more than "just a decor."

Flowers can easily take the place of boring everyday table decor, but it can easily trigger happy hormones, too. Te Amo Floristeria

An internationally trained florist who discovered her passion among floras, Amy Peng, CEO of Te Amo Floristeria, the pioneer luxury floral boutique in the Philippines, has been an advocate of the various benefits of constant contact with fresh flowers since learning about them in 2011.

Inspired by the idea of imparting ultimate betterment of people's everyday lives, Peng studied and visited prime horticultural countries to learn about her craft.

With years of travel, she has learned that flowers have multiple benefits, which is why she put up her own flower shop in BGC to cultivate local community through predictive-cognitive event marketing, and the provision of teaching-learning sessions that aim to breed a common interest in the effect of flowers on our emotions, moods and temperaments.

Flowers have been called Vitamin F simply because of the positive effects that can do for your body and soul.

For this holiday season, we know how important it is to give flowers to the special people in your life, but getting yourself some fresh flowers is as important too.
