MANILA, Philippines — DATEM was recently awarded by Landco Pacific Corporation as their general contractor in building the new luxury beachside condominium and tourist destination in Laiya, San Juan, Batangas—The Spinnaker.

The contract signing was led by Landco Pacific Corporation president and CEO Erickson Manzano and AVP and construction management head Phillip Baguisa, together with DATEM CEO Levy Espiritu and president Lesley Villanueva.

Under the contract, Landco Pacific and DATEM will work together to construct The Spinnaker, a medium-rise beachside condominium designed to be a coastal paradise, giving a fresh experience of luxury and beachside living in the 23-hectare Club Laiya.

The stunning beachside condominium resembles to the front sail of a yacht running before the wind, thus named as such, and offers a breathtaking view of the sea and mountain range.

DATEM will construct the 22-story The Spinnaker, including its hotel-like amenities, at the pristine beachfront of Club Laiya in San Juan, Batangas.

“DATEM is ready to bring to life Landco Pacific’s vision of a one-of-a-kind tourist destination that will spotlight the province of Batangas and our country’s natural resources including the warm smiles from Filipino staff, workers and talents,” Villanueva said.

Development of the country’s tourism economy through collaboration with developers of accommodation, resorts and destinations is one of the aspirations that drives DATEM.

Through the years, DATEM has built majestic structures that boost Philippine tourism, such as the Newport hotels—Sheraton, Okura and Hilton in Pasay City, Venice Grand Canal Mall in Taguig, and the Savoy Hotel and Belmont Luxury Hotel in Boracay.

Manzano expressed his optimism in the delivery of their iconic project. They have known DATEM’s capabilities in building sustainable and resilient structures.

“Along with featuring the beauty of our natural resources, DATEM is excited to build this environment-friendly structure that will allow 20% savings in water and energy consumption and the utilization of a double-piped waterline system to use non-potable water for toilet flushing and irrigation,” Villanueva added.
