A tropical wedding for Michael Marquez and Janet Lim
The tropical paradise theme was truly apt for one of the most spectacular weddings in Bacolod. Just before the sun set, a renewal of wedding vows was made between Michael Marquez and Janet Lim at the well-maintained La Provincia Polo Field. Fr. Reechee Espiritu delivered their love story in an inspiring yet humorous way.
The dashing groom, alongside his best men, Santiago Martin Ledesma and Carlos Martin Naguiat, stood smiling as he watched his gorgeous bride walk toward the crafted altar where her parents Henry and Lucy Lim together with the groom‘s mother Lally Marquez stood approvingly. Janet looked stunning in a Frankie de Leon gown which was encrusted with pearls, crystals and silver thread. Haidee Bart was attentive in her role and duties as maid of honor.
Nine couples stood as principal sponsors that: Jose de los Santos, Carmela Ongsiako, Hans Joseph and Maria Erlinda Banzhaf, Ramon Ma. Jose and Rowena Cecilia Lozano, Raymond Alexander and Ma. Cecilia Ricafort, Alberto Dy Sun and Solina Tan, Edward Uy and Lina Siao, Lito and Evelyn Ong, Dan Ramirez and Lorna Uy Benjamin Lim and Preciosa Ong.
Seasoned wedding planner Rita Neri helped ensure that everything went smoothly. The motif was white with touches of pastel pink flowers and the surrounding greenery made for a perfect setting. No detail was spared, with outdoor air-conditioning and industrial fans discreetly hidden within the garden to provide a cool breeze all throughout the night.

Over cocktails and on cue, a spectacular fireworks display lit the skies with a stunning range of beautiful effects that delighted the attendees
The dining tables were adorned with flower centerpieces and guests dined on a luxurious selection of dishes carefully prepared by Sugarland. An AVP presentation featured the couple in various scenic spots around Bacolod and its environs.
The newlyweds performed their first dance, a salsa number. Parents and family joined in and soon everyone young and older danced to the rhythm of the Aire Band. Even a short downpour couldn’t get invitees off the dance floor. There was no denying that the affair was one of the most heartfelt and fun weddings guests had ever attended.
