Walls of lush greenery with palms and cascading birds of paradise, blossoms amid flickering candles were executed by Pinky Chang of The Pink Floral.
To bring the tropical setting to life, guests came in colorful island attires complete with floral crowns and diadems on their hair.
A pair of food carvers flanked the dining table fully laden with finger savories and homemade entrees and picas based on treasured family recipes.
Among the well-wishers included prime real estate developer Annie Aboitiz, style icon Rosebud Sala, entrepreneur-philanthropist Mariquita Yeung, SM powerhouse Marissa Fernan, fashion designers Arcy Gayatin and Philip Rodriguez, innovative restaurateur Winglip Chang, hotelier June Alegrado, art enthusiast Elvira Luym, architect Tessie Javier, man for all seasons Marco Protacio, and Amparito Lhuillier, accompanied by Paris-based daughter Yvette, who found time to drop by, while the rest of her family had another on-going get-together led by husband Michel, son Michael and wife Joanna, and designer Monique Lhuillier.
