Twenty years ago, Cebu Marriott Hotel opened its doors in Ayala Business Park, the premier financial district in Cebu. Now two decades later, the award-winning hotel continues to emphasize service while delivering an experience that revels the spirit of the islands.
To celebrate this milestone, Marriott Hotel presented a three-day bridal fair aptly called “Glance: Celebrating Timeless Distinction.” The annual event featured a selection of Cebu’s premier wedding industry suppliers that included wedding coordinators, stylists and florists, jewelry designers, invitation printing, photographers and videographers.
Dessert spreads were offered by various dessert specialists and the foyer displayed 20 fabulously crafted bridal gowns for brides-to-be to see up close the elaborate workmanship.
Guests were also invited to register for a chance to win premium dining experience at the hotel. Several complimentary international accommodations from partner Marriott hotels in Jakarta, Bali, and South Korea were raffled off as well plus round trip tickets for two to Tokyo from Vanilla Air.
The show opened with a performance by the Cebu Philharmonic Orchestra and singer Anna Fegi-Brown. Amiable general manager Patrick Carroll took to the stage and invited guests to watch a recollection of the hotel’s stories over the changing social landscape of the past two decades. Special interviews were done with community personality’s philanthropist Amparito Lhuillier, architect Tessie Javier, master baker Marissa Unchuan and fashion designer Philip Rodriguez as they glanced back with fondness over how they remained relevant through time.
Director of sales and marketing Cleofe Albiso gave due recognition to the icons of the wedding and events industry who have not only survived, but thrived amid changing trends over the past 20 years.
The awardees for the distinct 20-year Partners in Excellence Awards were photographer Lemuel Arrogante; event stylists Teresin Mendezona and Pinky Chang; Gilbert Go of Gap Mobile; Marissa Unchuan of Mrs. U Foods; and designers Philipp Tampus, Harley Ruedas, Marichu Tan-Geson, Oj Hofer, Jun Escario and Philip Rodriguez.
