Partying at 81
Teresin Mendezona, known for her ingenuity in creating timeless and elegant affairs, had an intimate celebration at her well-appointed home to mark her 81st birthday. Close friends and loyal admirers gamely obliged to the celebrant’s request to don tiaras and arrived in stylish black ensembles to share the occasion with the much-loved gracious lady.
As expected, Teresin was elegant and refined in a long white intricate cutwork lace over black satin gown. She wore a magnificent tiara designed and crafted by her dear friend fashion designer Arcy Gayatin.
Acclaimed and talented florist and event planner Pinky Chang decorated the lanai with dozens of chandeliers with crystal prisms that provided the room with artistic light source. The tables draped in crisp black linen and accented with fairy lights added to the magical setting.
The fete was attended by Teresin’s sister Carmen Campbell, childhood friends Annie Aboitiz, Annabelle Luym, Rosebud Sala and long-time residents of America Florentino and Irma Atillo. It was also a gathering of philanthropists Amparito Lhuillier and Mariquita Yeung, architect Tessie Javier, skin specialist Marilou Ong, noted landscaper Jaime Chua, fashion designer Philip Rodriguez and educator Rafaelita Pelaez, who incidentally wore a real tiara.
