The basic daily routine for most ladies is to beautify their faces. Use makeup as the finishing touch in the entire grooming process. These products should be safe to use and must consider their effects on the environment, too.
Happy Skin Cosmetics, a homegrown brand, adheres to these requirements. Happy Skin cares for the skin because it is made with skin-caring ingredients and adopts high-quality formulas.
Behind this homegrown brand are co-founders Jacqe Gutierrez and Rissa Trillo. These two youthful, look-good, feel-good authorities built a close relationship when Rissa served as an ambassador and consultant for one of the beauty products Jacqe was handling during her decade-long stint at Unilever.
With Jacqe’s expertise in brand development and Rissa’s 15-year experience in beauty and cosmetics, in addition to being a model and beauty columnist at The STAR, Happy Skin Cosmetics, especially made for the Filipina, was born.
“What fueled this dream of mine was how hard it was to find good makeup that would care for the Filipina skin. I’ve had every imaginable makeup brand on my face. Makeup can instantly prettify you, but the biggest beauty woe is going home with ruined skin,” Rissa shares.
With the increase in the number of anti-aging supplements and solutions on the market appealing to every woman’s desire to stay forever young, Happy Skin’s face bases contain ingredients such as the Zit Zapper Cream Silicone-Free Foundation with Salicylic Acid that help prevent and heal pimples, while Face the World Air Serum contains anti-aging Immortelle.
Since 2013, Happy Skin has been collaborating with local talents from the beauty and fashion industry. This year, the brand’s Holiday collection is their first partnership with a well-loved brand Disney, popularly known for characters, sharing stories, and experiences that are welcomed into the hearts and homes of millions of families around the world.
“This collection reveals that when you’ve grown up with Disney’s iconic Princesses, no matter how old you are, there will always be a Princess in you,” enthuses Rissa.
Collaborating with Happy Skin on the Disney Princess makeup range allows Walt Disney Company Philippines to be a part of the everyday lives of Filipino women in a fun, compelling way.
“What is amazing and magical is that the Princess franchise is so aspirational and relatable that all girls fall in love with the Disney Princess brand and develop a special, timeless connection with the characters,” says Veronica Cabalinan, general manager of the Walt Disney Company Philippines.
Happy Skin opened its first boutique in Cebu — its first home outside of Luzon at the Upper Ground Level, North Wing, SM City.
