The traditional gold and silver, green and red of the merriest holiday season were conspicuously missing during the intimate dinner — a couple of days before Christmas —to celebrate yet another milestone in life of the ultimate host with impeccable touch and taste —the ageless Teresin Mendezona.
The elegant lady graciously requested those closest-to-her-heart to come in classic black, stunningly simple white or in blissful harmony of black and white. She gently urged her lady friends to don hair enhancers to add to the evening’s glitz and glamour.
The lively party definitely took a lot of preparation and only the best picas and wine, an impressive guest list and beautiful surroundings would do for the perfectionist celebrant.
Underneath the pergola, which was enchantingly decorated with white cascading flowers, were round tables decked with pristine black and white linens highlighted with a single white candle. Each table was filled with treats, which guests enjoyed before moving to the buffet. The spread and dessert station were chosen by Teresin to make her birthday special and memorable.
Teresin’s party was attended by society’s a-list such as Annie Aboitiz who was Teresin’s maid of honor, style icons Rosebud Sala, Iris Arcenas, Marguerite Lhuillier and June Alegrado, restaurateurs Winglip Chang and Lita Urbina, architect Tessie Javier and florist Pinky Chang, golfer Nonoy Tirol and former Spanish Honorary Consul, journalist Jaime Picornell.
Also in attendance was dear friend Elo Fernan, wife of the late Chief Justice Marcelo Fernan, who came with her daughters Marissa, vice president of SM Prime Holdings, Marget Villarica of Destination Specialist, dermatologist Memel Borromeo and commissioner for the Judicial and Bar Council Mitoy Cayosa.
Wrapping up the celebration was the cutting of Teresin’s cake, which was brought by Marissa Fernan. The much-liked celebrant made her wish, blew out the candles, thanked her guests and marked the beginning of another busy year.
