Ride around Manila’s tourist spots on two wheels

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Short-distance transportation vehicles are one of today’s current trends. The leading manufacturers in this type of technology are Segway Philippines and Ninebot Limited. Their products include two-wheeled electric vehicles that use zero-emission technology, which is a step towards greener air.

The two companies recently launched a new set of two-wheeled vehicles on Nov. 10 at Intramuros Manila.

Segway Inc. and Ninebot Limited are two companies, previously working independently, who have come to a mutual decision to combine their manufacturing prowess in short-distance-transportation small electric vehicles. They are both expert companies in the personal electronic transportation industry. Both are advocates of green technology and focus on research and development to further improve and promote the use of this eco-friendly personal transportation.

Segway’s range of products includes the i2 Commuter, i2 Cargo, i2 Patroller, x2 Patroller, x2 Turf and x2 Golf — each of which has its own specification and function. Ninebot offers products that feature high-quality performance with Android and iOS compatibility: the Ninebot One, Ninebot Elite and Ninebot mini.

The Ninebot Elite weighs 21kg without the operation bar, equipped with a 670Wh high capacity battery pack, which increases Ninebots’s mileage to 30-45 km.

The Ninebot Mini has a maximum speed of 18km/h, is also a personal transportation tool with interactive function, and is super-stable due to its dynamic balance function.

This year, Segway Inc. formally launched “The Navigatour Manila.” This tour includes Intramuros, the Club Intramuros Golf Course and other tourist spots in Manila such as Manila Bay and Rizal Park. The tours are all guided to facilitate safe and easy use of the vehicles.

This movement is in partnership with the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), with the support of the Manila City Government to provide unique and exciting tours featuring the historical wonders of the city using a modern mode of transportation. The Navigatour Manila is a step to promote ecotourism in the city, and soon the whole country.
