Jewelmer Joaillerie reopens in Cebu
Unlike gemstones that must be extracted from the earth, then cut and polished to bring out their beauty, pearls are grown by live oysters below the surface of the sea.
Cultured pearls share the same properties as natural pearls. The only difference is that a person carefully implants the irritant in the oyster and lets nature create its miracle.
In the Philippines, one such establishment that has perfected the process of finding perfectly matching orbs from a bounty of pearls is Jewelmer which was established in 1979 by French pearl farmer Jacques Branellec and Filipino entrepreneur Manuel Cojuangco.
The brand has steadily grown to operate 12 shops around the country. Recently it celebrated the reopening of its Jewelmer Joaillerie boutique at the Ayala Center Cebu, establishing a stronger presence through its recent shop renovation.
The event hosted by Issa Litton was nothing short of fabulous as guests marveled at the stunningly innovative creations. They likewise had the chance to win exciting raffle prizes.
Officially reopening the store were Jewelmer Joaillerie’s executive VP and deputy CEO Jacques Branellec and creative director Gaelle Branellec. They were joined by guests of honor Margot Osmeña, Penny Weigel and Nonie Uy.
Jacques Branellec had this to say: “We would like to strengthen our relationship by getting more acquainted with the Cebuanos. We have strong ties in Cebu as it is where most of our people in the farm come from. Cebuanos not just appreciate the beauty of the pearl but they also understand its importance.”
