A magnificent celebration for the Year of the Wood Sheep
The top-notch five-star hotel in the Queen City of the South Marco Polo Plaza Cebu (MPPC) organized a lavish affair to celebrate the Year of the Wood Sheep. Highlighting the event was the annual Yee Sang Tossing Ceremony (also known as Prosperity Toss) led by MPPC general manager Julie Najar along with noted personalities from the diplomatic, business and Filipino-Chinese community including Chinese Consul General Zhang Weiguo and consul Samuel Chioson. An eye-dotting ceremony, a coin-tossing ceremony and a lion and dragon dance were also done to complete the traditional way of welcoming the Lunar New Year. Guests were treated to a mouthwatering and delectable spread of authentic Chinese dishes as the hotel’s very own Culinary Impressions of China was launched as well on the same day.
A glamorous affair with Ann Ong
A gathering of the metro’s most stylish took place at the Vu’s Sky Bar and Lounge of Marco Polo Plaza Ortigas for the launch of the newest accessory collection of multi-awarded designer Ann Ong. Featuring several ladies donned in shades of green accentuated by their exceptional Ann Ong piece, the superbly coordinated fashion show also highlighted Ann’s masterpieces that are part art and part of her advocacy. The ever-philanthropic artist and three-time winner of the prestigious Katha Awards for Best Product Design in Fashion gives a lot of credit to her plateros who she stated were very supportive and helpful in her achievements and she pledges to continue moving forward in the accessory and jewelry industry, both domestically and internationally.
