Every bride wants to create the wedding celebration of her dreams but planning a wedding is an enormous undertaking, often requiring costly decisions in areas in which you have had no experience.
Cebu City Marriott Hotel organized a unique bridal fair that offered wedding suppliers and couples alike, a two-day intensive workshop and marketing platform through digital media with the industry’s top wedding organizers. Guest speakers included some of the most sought- after names in the field including wedding planner Rita Neri, visual storyteller Jason Magbanua, premier event stylist Teddy Manuel and top photographer Dina Lara.
With the theme, “Taking Weddings to the age of Social Media,” Cebu Marriott Hotel showcased the works of over 40 of the city’s wedding suppliers. It also offered a one-hour panel discussion with social media gurus to encourage the industry to present their craft online. A dialogue about the value in marketing and where to begin opened a world of possibilities to Cebu’s social players.
The highlight of the three-day event was a mini fashion show that had the island’s top fashion designers such a Philip Rodriguez, Jun Escario, Marichu Tan, Philip Tampus, Dexter Alazas, Humberto Villegas, Protacio Empacis, Edwin Alba, Bernardo Flores and Hans Coquilla, showcasing wonderfully elegant and wearable wedding dresses in every imaginable style and creation. It likewise formally launched a promotional video produced by the hotel for each of the hotel’s partner. Each video focuses on the supplier’s strength in their field of expertise and one which they can use to upload and share through their social media feeds.
On display were lovely flower arrangements by top florists Simple Wishes, Blooms and Bubbles and Bluegrass Project. Much-sought after master baker Marisa Unchuan was around to share her expertise on cakes while Corrine Go presented the endless possibilities when it comes to invitations. Multi-awarded makeup artist Jessie Glova introduced new techniques and range of make-up that can transform the physical appearance of an individual.
Noted wedding planners in attendance were Ralyn Sevilla, Tisha Cue, Bonnie Almendras, Joan Lapuz and Stanz Catalan. Photographers James Jason Ty, Mickhail Arrogante, Glen Ducante and Mark Bollozos presented some unique procedures that can capture and preserve the wonderful moments between two people in love.
