90 and loving it!
Luis Rosas Alvarez looked every inch a benevolent godfather as he sat comfortably in his customized mobile chair surrounded by his caring family led by his ever-supportive wife Merceditas Borromeo Alvarez, his loving children and their spouses, grandchildren down to the sole great grandchild as he blew the candles on his favorite cake to commemorate his 90th birthday celebration.
The Luis Alfonso Hall of the family-owned Costabella Tropical Beach Hotel, a sterling resort of choice of many discerning travelers, was transformed into an elegant grand ballroom of a bygone era many dream of, some still long for.
Color and life radiated throughout the ballroom as guests converged under a white canopy. The tables were elegantly set in black tablecloths and black seat covers to match. The centerpiece had a long stemmed crystal vase decorated with red roses and plumes.
As expected, service didn’t skip a beat. From parking attendants to the welcome committee, everything was orchestrated to perfection.
Making the evening one to remember was the entertainment done by individuals close to the celebrant’s heart. His four daughters Merche Castro, Mariles Nable, Marisse Sy and Marita Arambulo and only son Louie joined by their spouses and children performed a dance number. The loyal and dedicated officers and staff of the resort likewise did a dance number to the tune of the era.
Guests feasted on Costabella’s culinary offerings with various food stations offering Asian and European cuisine. Red and white wine were also generously served throughout the night. Master baker Maris Sy lovingly prepared delightful desserts that had everyone going back for more.
Brief after-dinner remarks were said to thank everyone who came and gave their time to a man genuinely admired for his work in business and dedication to his family. So much love was felt by all. Professionalism was at its best yet done with a caring personalized touch.
