MANILA, Philippines - Longevity, sustainability, legacy—these were the goals stressed at the mid-year conference of the Chamber of Pawnbrokers of the Philippines, Inc. (CPPI) held recently at the main ballroom of the Quezon City Sports Club. With “Focusing on Family Business, A Serious Matter” as conference theme, the CPPI, headed by Zambia Honorary Consul Louie Ablaza as president, invited renowned speakers in the field of business to focus on the different aspects of a family-run business like succession, the constitutionality of a family business, taxation, and legal matters affecting the pawnshop industry.
