MANILA, Philippines - Noted names from the country’s elite circles will come together for a benefit dinner-fashion show entitled “When Art Meets Fashion,†organized by the Society for Cultural Enrichment, Inc. (SCEI) in cooperation with the Ayala Museum. The fundraising event, to be held on June 25 at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La, will feature stunning gowns made by leading names in the Philippine fashion industry, inspired by the works of art masters Fernando Amorsolo, Juan Luna and Damian Domingo as well as abstract paintings of Presidential Medal of Merit awardee Fernando Zobel from the Ayala Museum collection. SCEI chairman and president consul Helen Ong and vice chairman Dr. Jimmy Laya met with the event organizing committee composed of Mimi Valerio, Tess Castro, Nonie Basilio, Marian Ong, Chacha Camacho, Roy Gonzales and consuls Agnes Huibonhoa and Betty Chua to finalize the details for the said affair. Proceeds of this benefit fashion show will be allocated to the ongoing cultural literacy improvement and art appreciation project of the organization among public school teachers and students.
