Century Properties opens the Mall of Modern Makati

MANILA, Philippines - Century Properties Group pulled off a fabulous event at the Century City Mall’s grand launch, marking the official opening of the five-story boutique mall on Kalayaan Avenue, Makati.

The highlight of the evening was a showcase of futuristic fashion creations by global young Filipino designer Francis Libiran, who, as Century Properties chief operating officer Marco Antonio puts it, “reflects the energy, vibe and global spirit of Century City Mall.”

“This mall is a showcase of Century Properties’ passion and creativity as a developer,” he adds, sharing that as a retail project that stands on a portion of the former International School of Manila property, “Century City Mall and the other buildings rising within the 3.4-hectare Century City pay tribute to the site’s international heritage.”

“We are glad to show everyone this vibrant, chic and modern mall, which aims to deliver a great and differentiated customer experience,” Antonio said.

Raising a glass for a ceremonial toast, Marco shared the moment with his siblings Jigger, Robbie and Carlo, wife Jackie and parents, Century Properties chairman Jose E.B. Antonio and Hilda Reyes Antonio.

Called the Mall of Modern Makati for its unique architecture and good mix of Filipino and global retail and dining establishments, “Century City Mall serves as an exciting new complement to the current retail centers in Makati City,” said Graham Coates, Century City Mall general manager.

Guests at the party were treated to welcome drinks courtesy of TWG Tea Salon, which served refreshingly cool signature teas followed by free-flowing cocktails from Grey Goose, Bacardi and Bombay Sapphire.

As models walked the runway in futuristic Francis Libiran creations, Century City Mall simultaneously showcased its music, light and fountain spectacle, providing a well-choreographed show.

Libiran said, “The future of fashion is only limited by one’s imagination. Everything is possible. Even clothes, by themselves, can be brought to life.”
