Another year, another feather in his cap
MANILA, Philippines - Renowned glass sculptor Ramon Orlina celebrated his birthday in Tagaytay City to coincide with the inauguration of Museo Orlina. To mark the event, a three-man exhibit called “Promdi: Three Talents of Provincial Ancestry†was jointly presented by Museo Orlina and Paseo Gallery at the Reflections Gallery. The opening of Museo Orlina was attended by National Artist Frankie Sionil Jose and his lovely wife Tessie, who were later joined by Oscar and Mary Lou Hilado, lawyer Sigfrid Fortun and wife Dolly as guests of honor at the unveiling of the exhibit that featured the individual artistic talents of multi-awarded visual artist Ben Cruz from Laguna, Neo-Tribolism group founder Leopoldo Aguilar from Cebu, and our friend, Ramon Orlina, the country’s pioneering glass sculptor from Batangas. Family members, art lovers, friends and other guests of Orlina like National Artist Ben Cabrera, Annie Sarthou and Sonya Garcia of Sonya’s Garden also enjoyed a musical performance by distinguished musicians and chamber performers.
