Capture the beauty of a Filipino sunset and win P100,000

MANILA, Philippines - In its advocacy to promote the Manila Bay and the City of Manila, Anchor Land Holdings Inc. holds the “Iconic Impressions: The Manila Bay Photo Contest.”

Using the theme “The Timeless Beauty of Manila Bay in Photographs,” photographers are challenged to capture the unparalleled beauty and grandeur of Manila and its world-renowned sunset.

Though the sunset over Manila Bay is an everyday occurrence, its frequency does not take anything away from the event’s majesty. Anchor Land has taken the initiative, through “Iconic Impressions,” to remind everyone of a very sorely overlooked natural wonder right here in the city.

Open in two categories to both professionals and non-professionals and open to Filipinos and non-Filipinos residing in the country, “Iconic Impressions” challenges entrants to capture the spirit of Manila and the beauty of its sunset in a single photograph. The judging criteria are split into the following categories: 40 percent, Relevance to the theme; 30 percent, visual concept and impact; and 30 percent, Imaginative execution.

Prizes and tokens will be awarded to all finalists, with the top winner in the enthusiast division receiving P50,000 and the champion in the professional division taking home P100,000.

After the final submissions are made on May 30, key figures in the photography and advertising industry will review the entries and will shortlist eight finalists from each division. The eight will then be featured in a photo exhibit at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel Manila from June 10 to 17, with the event culminating in a grand awarding ceremony to be held on the last day of the photo exhibit.

Deadline for submissions is on May 30. Provincial/regional entries to the Anchor Land head office via standard registered package or courier must be postmarked May 30.
