Big cheers and numerous accolades marked the awarding ceremonies of the 2014 Golden Tee Invitational Tournament, the Philippines’ biggest non-professional golf competition in terms of prizes at stake that included five luxury cars and another for the raffle. At the Manila Golf and Country Club, the winners as well as the sponsors of the event were presented with awards for a successful undertaking. This year’s overall team champions were Tomas Alvarez and Lamberto Lagaya. Team champions per division were Alejandro Prieto and Eoin O’Neill (Division 1), Roberto Kanapi and Elson Dagondon (Division 2) and Francisco Wong and Jeremy Parulan (Division 3). Overall All Team Low Gross champions were Jojo Guingona and Jose Mari Hechanova, with Antonio Payumo as Overall Individual Low Gross champion. A Mercedez-Benz E-Class was won by two hole-in-one winners, Ochie Santos and Lamberto Lagaya. The program was interspersed with raffle draws that featured the biggest prizes for this tournament to date—iPhones, digital SLR cameras, airline tickets, premier resort accommodations and a Toyota Altis 2014 model 1.6 automatic as grand prize. Guests were treated to a buffet dinner superbly catered by gourmet chef Margarita Fores and wines courtesy of Alex Lichaytoo of Bacchus, all-night dancing to live music of the Highway 54 band, and excellent performances by warbler Pinky Marquez and bari-tenor Jack Salud.
