Pushing the cause of art

MANILA, Philippines - After observing that art is taught in the Philippine public school system as part of music, art, and physical Education and Health, the Society for Cultural Enrichment Inc. (SCEI), under its chairman and president Helen Ong, has implemented a program to enhance art appreciation among public school teachers and ultimately enrich culture and arts instruction in public schools.  The program was completed in collaboration with the Metrobank Foundation Inc. Rotary Clubs, Yuchengco Museum, and public school superintendents and principals.  SCEI concluded the program with a tour of the Yuchengco Museum that houses works from 19th century masters to today’s National Artists.
