Experience shopping high at Robinsons Malls’ Giant Sale

The word “shopping” has this magical ability to light up women’s faces. And just like a pre-programmed gene in our body, it suddenly takes over our senses. We can even indulge in it for one whole day and not feel tired at all. 

It’s the thrill of the chase for that perfect purchase. And Robinsons Malls (with 32 branches nationwide) tickles our senses further as it holds its October Giant Sale until tomorrow. Shoppers can enjoy as much as 70-percent off not just in Robinsons Department Store but in all its partner merchants as well.

“Robinsons Malls’ October Giant Sale is the much-anticipated year-end sale, especially by the ladies and busy moms who hold office near Robinsons Galleria,” explains Roseann Coscolluela-Villegas, public relations head, Robinsons Land Corporation. “They normally hit the shops during lunch break or after office hours.”

And to channel my inner shopaholic, I made a dash for Robinsons Galleria last Tuesday. And since it was a holiday, the mall was packed with families and barkadas who filled up the restos, arcades, and movie houses. Of course, there were the early birds who did their pre-Christmas shopping like me.

Of course, you must avoid the Christmas rush. And if you want to give everyone on your list the gifts they desire without breaking the bank, take advantage of the mall-wide sales happening in the metro this time of the year. Well, that’s exactly what my photographer Felix “Boy” Suerte and I did at Robinsons Galleria one fine Tuesday.

Armed with our red shopping bags, we stormed The Little Things She Needs boutique. Located at the second level, West Wing, this Indonesian brand offers trendy and affordable shoes and accessories for the stylephiles.

Mang Boy had a heyday shopping for scarves and trinkets for his daughter and nieces. I, on the other hand, feasted my eyes on the colorful and comfy Mary Janes hanging on the wall. You can have two pairs for only P1,000 or get a pair of ballet flats for only P300 (from P599). What’s also nice about this store is that it carries shoe sizes from seven to as big as 11.

Oh, and since a  girl can’t have too many shoes and flip-flops, I headed over to Res-Toe-Run and had my fill of Fit-Flops at 30-percent off.  

Over at Bass, you’ll be shoe happy to know that the store offers as much as 65-percent off on selected pairs.

As they say, feminine interest in shopping is more intense when it comes to jewelry and clothes. Well, that explains the long queues at the counters of Topshop, Esprit, Guess, La Senza, and Karat World.

At Topshop, top picks are the cotton tees and denim shorts at 50-percent off. Over at Esprit, you can buy two tops for P1,498, P1,198, and P1,698; and for every purchase of two regular-priced items, you get 20-percent off.   

Ladies love to collect stuff — it can be jewelry, shoes or bags. While I’m addicted to fit-flops, my mom-in-law, who is a breast cancer survivor, hoards nice-fitting bras in her closet. Thank goodness, La Senza is on sale so I grabbed a dainty one for her at P495. And for my mom who loves breezy tops and tunics, I raided the racks of Dorothy Perkins and checked out the ladies’ department of Robinsons Department Store.

Books make great gifts, too. Not only are they affordable, books also provide hours of surprise and discovery. At National Book Store, there is definitely a book for everyone on your list. 

‘Tis the season to glow. Those who are planning to tie the knot this December should check out the elegant diamond engagement and wedding rings at Karat World, which also carries charm bracelets and earrings for women of all ages.

There are just so many good buys at the Robinsons Malls October Great Sale. Levi’s ladies’ denim is at 50-percent off; Lacoste Footwear offers from 20 to 50-percent discount; even Sarabia Optical is giving from 10 to 20-percent  discount on fashion and luxury eye wear as well as tailor-fit product lines.

Robinsons Malls first held its red hot sale in August 2011, and the month-long sale has since become such an anticipated event.
