MANILA, Philippines - Part of the LVMH Group today, Bulgari was founded in Rome in 1884 as a single jewelry shop. Its international success made the company evolve into a global and diversified player in the luxury market, with a store network in the most exclusive shopping areas worldwide, and a portfolio of product and services ranging from jewels and watches to accessories, perfumes and hotels.
The first Bulgari Hotel was opened in Milan in 2004. Designed by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners, it is located in one of the most prestigious Milanese areas that are rich in cultural heritage and close to luxury shopping attractions. It is in the Berra district and set in the center of a 400-sqm. private garden next to the Botanical Gardens.
The hotel features Zimbabwe marble, solid teak and oak rooms, suites and contemporary furniture and details designed by Citterio. It has 58 suites and rooms, most with garden views.
In 2012, Bulgari Hotel & Residences London opened. Its design pays tribute to Bulgari’s silversmith origins and Britain’s noble manufacturing traditions with an understated, elegant design concept and refined interiors by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners, with Squire and Partners as the local architect.
The 85 rooms and suites feature exquisite detailing throughout, such as custom-made silk curtains with patterns inspired by some of the classic Bulgari jewelry designs, and bedside tables inspired by Bulgari’s silver candlesticks. The silver theme continues through the hotel and into the restaurant and bar with handcrafted Italian detailing as two stunning solid silver Bulgari chandeliers in the ballroom, creating a dramatic presence.
Bulgari Bali is a 59-villa property located near the village of Pecatu and the stunning cliff-top site of the Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple on the island’s southwestern tip. Jimabaran Bay and the international airport are 20 kilometers away while Kuta, the touristy heart of Bali, is a 40-minute drive.
Nestled between the cliff and the ocean is a 1.5-km.-long beach accessible only through the resort’s inclined elevator.
The resort reflects a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Balinese design while conveying the distinctive Bulgari-Italian style. The hotel is built and furnished using hand-cut volcano stones, rich exotic woods, and refined fabrics. Natural lava and palimanan stone are used for the garden and interior walls.
In Tokyo, Bulgari has Il Ristorante, the Bar and La Terrazza Lounge on the top floors of the Bulgari Ginza Tower. The Italian-inspired restaurant was awarded one Michelin star in 2012.
The building has an imposing 56-meter-high façade and the 11-floor Bulgari Ginza Tower is an icon of metropolitan architecture for customers and visitors to Tokyo. The façade and interiors of the tower were designed by in-house Bulgari architects and the structure, inspired by a jewel box, was designed by Shimizu Corporation.
The four levels of the restaurant are reached by an elevator that departs from a private lobby on the ground floor and accessible directly from Marronier street.
Il Ristorante offers a unique view of Tokyo from all angles, thanks to the transparent, full-height glass façade, thus making the city almost an extension of the interior space.
