MANILA, Philippines - Uniqlo opened its first store in the Philippines for 2013 yesterday at SM Aura Premier in Taguig, with three more openings scheduled till June.
May 24 is another big date for Uniqlo as the Japanese fashion brand opens its first provincial store in SM Pampanga. There will be two store openings next month: SM Fairview on June 14 and Glorietta on June 28. The Glorietta store marks Uniqlo’s first anniversary in the Philippines.
Uniqlo designs, markets and sells high-quality casual apparel. The company believes that truly great clothes should be supremely comfortable, feature universal designs, are of high quality and offer a superb fit to everyone who wears them.
These openings follow the huge success of the brand’s two stores at The Block, SM City North EDSA in Quezon City and SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
Katsumi Kubota, managing director of Uniqlo in the Philippines, says the brand plans to open at least 50 stores in the country by 2015 with 30-40 of those stores to be strategically located in Metro Manila.
For the four store openings, Uniqlo will showcase its latest global brand concept “LifeWear,†which has already been launched in other countries. LifeWear, according to Uniqlo, is defined as the perception by the wearer him/herself reflecting on how great they feel when they wear Uniqlo clothing and, as a result, it can better their lives.
Uniqlo’s spring-summer collection offers a variety of colors and print designs that you can mix and match to create your own style this summer. The year, Uniqlo presents the key product categories include Color and Prints; Functional Wear such as Airism; and the UT collections with new graphics and designs.
Previously named Unique Clothing Warehouse and later renamed Uniqlo, the brand is now Japan’s leading clothing retail chain known for its high quality fashionable basic and casual wear. It has around 824 stores in Japan alone and about 150 stores outside its home base.
