MANILA, Philippines - The bust of National Artist Vicente Manansala was unveiled in a ceremonial turnover to the National Museum of the Philippines. The bust was donated by the Friends of Manansala led by its president Maritess Pineda. Sculpted in 1998 by another National Artist Napoleon Abueva who was also present during the unveiling, the bust now stands at the Museum Foundation Hall of the National Museum in Padre Burgos Avenue, Manila. The donation was made on the occasion of the late artist’s 103rd birth anniversary. National Artist for Literature F. Sionil Jose also graced the affair along with his wife Teresa while Asia’s Queen of Songs Pilita Corrales obliged with a few songs. Thank you, Maritess and to all who love the artworks of the great Manansala!
