MANILA, Philippines - Sustainability is the zeitgeist of the information age with consumers exploring more eco-responsible choices and asking the right questions: In what I use and consume on a daily basis, where do the raw materials come from? Magniflex was established in 1962 by Ghiuliano Magni in his workshop in Prato, Tuscany, Italy’s wool textile capital. The company takes inspiration from Tuscany’s landscape and uses natural materials with all-Italian mattresses that are manufactured locally and where the raw materials are sourced as well.

Magniflex’s Geoethic line of mattresses pushes the eco-responsible stance even further. Geoethic mattresses and covers are all-organic and durable, made only by using natural, biodegradable fibers and textiles. These are designed to allow air to breeze through the hypoallergenic core and cover. This breathable quality of the Geoethic line makes it particularly apt for tropical climates. Geoethic mattress covers use natural, renewable fabrics—linen, organic cotton, corn or bamboo.

Magniflex foam mattresses are also packaged responsibly: each one is rolled up and vacuum-packed, reducing its size by 90 percent. This leads to saving on space for more efficient transport, and reduced carbon emissions. Geoethic mattresses are also certified according to the Oeko-Tex 100 Standard, which declares textiles safe from harmful substances.
