A day at the carnival
The annual Fila Polo Cup, a brainchild of Fila Philippines chairman Butch Albert and president and CEO Cris Albert, is a much anticipated event in the local sports calendar for the adrenalin-pumping action as well as the glitz and glamour it brings to the loyal fans. This year’s event, held at the prestigious Manila Polo Club in Forbes Park, started with two exciting polo matches, with the Blue Team emerging as the overall champion. Manila’s finest from the business, sports and society circles were treated to a local version of the Brazilian carnival as the Guarana band played authentic bossa nova and samba music while the Macaruja dancers and the Escola de Samba de Manila dancers livened up the evening with their colorful costumes and infectious dance moves. Adding to the night’s excitement was the extraordinary and fierce performance of premiere hoop artist and Talentadong Pinoy Season 3 champion Astroboy. Cheers to Butch, Cris and their hardworking team for another successful affair!
