MANILA, Philippines - New World Makati Hotel’s Cantonese restaurant, Jasmine, welcomes the Year of the Water Snake with dining options and activities to usher in prosperity and fortune this Chinese New Year.
Chinese executive chef Wong Kam On and his team prepare lunch and dinner with authentic Cantonese dishes offered in set menus aptly named “Wealth†and “Fortune†ongoing until Feb. 13. The eight-course lauriat set menu of supreme seafood with crab roe, braised dried oyster with sea moss and pork tongue in lettuce, wok-fried tiger prawns in bouillon with e-fu noodles, among other dishes at P1,388 per person. A second set menu of nine courses is also available, with dishes like stewed pork knuckle with black mushrooms, steamed cod fish fillet with egg and soy sauce and stir-fried tiger prawns with garlic and e-fu noodles in coconut milk sauce at P1,888 per person.
Lunch diners are given a special option, as Jasmine guests, to unlimited dim sum, appetizers, soup, main courses and desserts, with local beers and soft drinks, for just P1,488 per person.
Tomorrow, a lion and dragon dance performance by the professional Ling Nam Athletic Association will begin in the lobby at 1 p.m. and will make its way through the hotel’s outlets, with Jasmine as one of its main stopovers.
