MANILA, Philippines - Resorts World Manila’s production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King And I with Genting Hong Kong holds its charity show for various beneficiaries today at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
Beneficiaries of the charity event include non-government organization Caritas Manila; the local arm of the international group helping the elderly Little Sister of the Poor; youth development organization The Philippine Christian Foundation; and social services church The Shrine of St. Therese of the Child Jesus.

While the noted theater production has been selected with 10 nominations for this year’s Broadway World Philippines Awards, its run has also been extended to next year due to the clamor of its many fans.
More CSR initiatives are currently being undertaken by Resorts World Manila, such as the Livelihood and Employment Assistance Program (LEAP), and an arts festival and competition dubbed the Pinoy Ultimate Jeepney (PUJ) Awards, aiming to revive the cultural icon that is the jeepney. The latter is part of Resorts World Manila’s grandest Christmas celebration to date, the Grand Fiesta 2012.
