A different Father's Day celebration at Eton City's ActivFunZone
MANILA, Philippines - Families looking for an unusual outdoor celebration of Father’s Day found it at Eton City’s ActivFunZone. The activity field in the township development of Eton Properties Philippines, Inc. (EPPI) in Sta. Rosa, Laguna lived up to its name as dads, together with their kids and wives, flew kites together, had picnic at special cabanas and launched sky lanterns into the night sky to cap a fun-filled day last June 17.
Giant page replicas of the picture storybook “The Fourth Little Pig” by Carmelita A. Cochingco-Ballesteros complete with voice narration and music also treated children to a heart-warming story about a pig’s quest for a new home.
Food stalls, kiting assistants, cool breeze, ample parking space and clean restrooms at the ActivFunZone made the family gathering and bonding comfortable and convenient.
A sidelight treat for the occasion was fishing at the nearby South Lake Village’s man-made lake. There a father and his child experienced for the first time the thrill of catching tilapia with a fishing rod.
The centerpiece of Eton City along South Luzon Expressway, South Lake Village is a luxury enclave consisting of 16 distinct island lots surrounded by a 35-hectare man-made lake. To know more about Eton City and the communities being developed in the rising Laguna township, just log on to www.eton.com.ph or call 542-2858 to 59.
The ActivFunZone beside the Eton City Sales Pavilion will have more wholesome events that families can freely join any day of the week until August 12 (except Mondays) from 10AM to 8PM. The giant picture storybook “The Fourth Little Pig” is open for free to children and adults. The exhibit supported by the children welfare group Bantay-Bata of ABS-CBN Foundation promotes reading and literacy, as well as teach moral values among kids.
“Eton City believes in the same advocacy of Bantay Bata so we support this interactive educational activity for children,” according to Lennie Mendoza, vice president and project head of Eton City.
There are also free kiddie workshops every Sunday at the ActivFunZone. A workshop on beads and bracelet will be on June 24, hair accessories making on July 1, read aloud session with “The Fourth Little Pig” author on July 8, scrap booking on July 15, basic topiary flower arrangement on July22, and painting of coffee mugs on July 29 and Aug. 5.
On Aug. 12, a family fun weekend will top the month-long kiddie workshop series at the ActivFunZone.
The ActivFunZone can be reached by going to Eton City via the Eton City Exit of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). The Eton City Exit, only 3 kilometers away from the Sta. Rosa Exit, offers the
