Clorox offers solution to a homemaker's perennial woes

-

MANILA, Philippines - When cleaning the house, homemakers are often faced with the dilemma of whether or not the kind of “cleaning” exerted was enough to provide protection for their homes — that is, if their regular cleaning effort was good enough to thoroughly disinfect and protect members of the entire household from disease-causing germs and viruses?

Unknown to many, the words “cleaning” and “disinfecting” actually mean two different things. And although the two are related, they are actually not similar and may require different cleaning products. Knowing which of these actions to take could actually spell the difference between false security and well-being

From Clorox are a few helpful hints:

• Cleaning or washing with soap and water removes visible dirt, dust, and debris. Sanitizing decreases the presence of bacteria. Disinfecting, on the other hand, kills common fungi,  bacteria, and viruses on a surface.

• Colds and viruses can spread through indirect contact. If an infected person sneezes on his hand and then touches the elevator button, it is highly likely that the next person who will touch it will pick up the virus, and then develop sickness once he or she touches his/her own eyes, mouth or nose.

 • Using soap and water to clean, and washing the hands are essential to keep germs at bay. But if you want to control and prevent further spread of viruses and bacteria, you should also clean as well as disinfect. Disinfecting hard, nonporous, common surfaces is a sure-fire way to decrease the risk of spreading surface germs by touch. You know it’s time to disinfect your premises when you have sick office workers around, when your child comes home from school with the flu, if you have a loved one whose immune system is compromised, or if there is an outbreak in your area.

Prevent the spread of common illnesses caused by germs using Clorox’s brand’s wide array of products for disinfecting any and all parts of the house. Apply Clorox Bleach (in regular, lemon and lavender scents) not only to whiten whites but also to disinfect household items like children’s toys, kitchen sinks and countertops. You can also try Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner, the only product of its kind that uses the power of Clorox  Bleach to dissolve stain and remove dirt and grime, eliminating 99.9 percent of germs as it deodorizes.

Another product, Clorox Clean-Up Cleaner with Bleach, can help you win the battle against tough stains, grease, and dirt, as well as germs that you can’t see. It contains disinfecting as well as detergent-like ingredients that increase the product’s effectiveness. For busy parents, Clorox Disinfecting Wipes provide a simple solution for cleaning and disinfecting various household surfaces; you only need to wipe and you’re done! Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes comes in refreshing and gentle Lemon and Fresh scents that linger on the surface after you wipe.

Cloroz is available in supermarkets nationwide.
